Learners should, as a minimum, have English language skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening to learn and pass the course.
ID REQUIREMENTS
Learners’ identification is checked at the start of the course and before they undertake the assessment. One of the following as proof of a learner’s identity is required: – a valid passport (any nationality)
– a signed UK photocard driving licence
– a valid warrant card issued by HM forces or the police
– another photographic ID card, e.g. employee ID card, student ID card, travel card etc.
Learners without a proper identification will not be able to sit the exam hence it is important that they carry their ID with them on the first day of the course and on the examination day.
USEFUL INFORMATION
The course includes an ongoing summative practical and theoretical assessment at various stages during the course.
The qualification is valid for a 3 year period from the final training session.

Chapter 6 – The respiratory system, Resuscitation, Disorders of respiration and circulation
Chapter 7 – Wounds and bleeding
Chapter 8 – Epilepsy, Minor burns and scalds
Chapter 9 – Other injuries: Bones, joints, muscle, head, spinal, eye and poisoning injuries
Chapter 10 – Major illnesses
Chapter 11 – Effects of extreme heat and cold
Chapter 12 – Paediatric Basic Life Support
Chapter 13 – Defibrillation with an AED
